A Fundraiser for
the Ground UP Dance Festival

The Ground UP Dance Festival is thrilled to celebrate its 5th anniversary season of dance in Kingston. While we are grateful for the continued support of the City of Kingston Arts Fund and the Ontario Arts Council, additional community support is essential to help us meet and exceed the professional standards of the Canadian Alliance for Dance Artists (CADA) and continue expanding opportunities for artists and audiences.

A key partner in the festival is the Kingston School of Dance, the oldest dance school in Kingston, which proudly serves as a hub for the local dance sector and hosts many of the festival’s activities.

Join us for "SPRING UP… to Dance", our annual festival fundraiser, taking place Friday, April 17th from 8:00-9:00pm in Studio A at the Kingston School of Dance. This unique evening will feature live music from special musical guests and festival collaborators, paired with improvised dance scores performed by Kingston’s own Movement Market Collective. Experience the magic that happens when music and dance meet in the moment, without rehearsal or planning.

Admission: $20.00 per person
*All ages welcome

All proceeds support the 2026 Ground UP Dance Festival, running June 10th to July 11th, 2026.

Accessibility Note:
This event is accessible and takes place on the main floor (3rd floor) of the Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning, 370 King St. West, Kingston, Ontario. The Kingston School of Dance (KSD) is a wheelchair accessible space. Accessible parking spaces are available in both the lower parking lot and the accessible lot adjacent to the Tett. There are two gender neutral washrooms onsite.

We will be announcing the musical guests and dance performers on Saturday, March 14th, so please stay tuned for that exciting update.
